Everyone should be making sure they are downloading and installing updates to your software on a regular basis; particularly Java and Adobe updates. Not doing so could result in security holes and functionality issues. but, be aware that often when installing these updates, they may try to install additional software you don't want or need. Other than being a nuisance, this could cause problems. For example, having two different anti-virus programs running on the same computer can cause conflicts that actually make you less safe and slow down your computer. So, make sure as you're going through the install windows to look for check boxes listing these additional software and DE-select them!
